Unable to install
This says the game is compatible with iPhone v. 3.0 or better. I have 3.1.x right now, and it won't let me install because iTunes claims the game is incompatible with my iPhone. Waste of $2.99 due to false tech requirements.
NOT ipod touch compatible
Seems like a good game, but as of May 20, 2010, it DOES NOT work with my latest iPod Touch, software 3.1.3. Sad!!

Impressive, though currently a bit thin on content.
Ive had a chance to spend about an hour with the game, and in some ways I'm even more impressed than I was initially. The caveat right now is that content wise, the game is a bit thin now, though the developer is promising more to come (they also mentioned by email that the iPad version would also have more from the get-go).
As far as graphics, animation, and overall presentation, we're talking AAA here — some of the best I've seen on the platform. On a 3Gs, there's not even a stutter when you turn the camera 360 degrees. Visually I am reminded of American McGee's Alice, not just in design but in overall quality and detail. Control-wise, the developers have gone through great length to make your interaction with your dragon seem as seamless as possible. Petting, training, and feeding your dragon are accomplished directly by touching either the dragon or the environment (grabbing the food items can sometimes take more than one try, which seems to be the only glitch I've been able to find with the controls).
Gameplay wise, your job is to give your dragon plenty to eat and drink, train him to fly (by holding him up and letting go), and give him affection through petting. They start out tiny and helpless but grow in three stages with the proper care. When you reach the final stage, your dragon can both be customized and taken out to race in 3 different underground "tracks". There are gems scattered across the tracks, which you can use to purchase different horns, wings, and armor. To make things interesting, the track is littered with different kinds of obstacles, some of which you can fly around, but others that need to be destroyed — you can use a fireball ability or ram through them, each talent made more or less effective depending on the wings, horns, or gear you purchase. The flying sequences are really well done, though they do hiccup a bit every once in a while (very minor).
Leveling your dragon up to the final stage won't take very long at all (30 minutes or so), and after that you can probably purchase all the gear and customization in a few hours. You can raise more than one dragon at a time, though they cannot be made to interact with each other. Unlike Touch Dogs, there's not social or online component (no way to have play dates with other dragons, for example). At the same time, there's no DLC to purchase either, and food is plentiful in the cavern. It should also be noted that the dragon waits for you to command him; it will stand still till you tell him to go somewhere, though it will remind you that it needs food, water, or attention.
Considering the overall quality of the game, it's pretty obvious to me that the developer intends to use it as the basis of a burgeoning title. The description promises "quests and adventures," which would be great. As of right now, there's not a heck of a lot of content, but what's there is as good as anything I've seen on the platform.
Fun y
